Dave Rogers, President and CEO
Prior to founding AMP Solar Group, Dave worked at Front Street Capital, one of Canada’s largest independent energy investment Management firm in Toronto, as Vice President of Carbon Origination and Investments. He was responsible for sourcing global investments in the carbon offset origination and renewable energy field as well as facilitating the purchase, sale and trading of carbon credits, both privately and through public exchanges.
Dave established the Front Street Capital Carbon Fund in 2007 and established a diverse portfolio of investments within the Kyoto market and the North American pre-compliance market as well as overseeing the voluntary carbon trading activities within the firm.
Prior to joining Front Street, Dave worked in a number of roles that most recently included responsibility of the North American Carbon strategy within the Direct Energy Business Markets division of Centrica PLC, a leading global energy firm.
Paul Ezekiel, Executive Chairman
Paul Ezekiel is the Founding Partner of Yallingup Capital Management, an asset manager focused on principal investment strategies in next generation Energy Infrastructure. The sectors within this new asset class include Renewable Energy, Waste to Energy, Grid Infrastructure, Biofuels, Energy Efficiency and Water.
Ezekiel was previously a Managing Director at Credit Suisse and was a member of the Global Energy Trading Executive Management Committee. Amongst Ezekiel’s responsibilities was his position as the Global Head of the firm’s Environmental commodity trading business. Ezekiel also co-developed the firm’s global Renewable Energy strategy which included the firm’s Principal and Investment Banking strategies. As the largest Energy investment bank globally with active principal activity, Ezekiel developed several principal strategies for the firm in Renewable Energy, Waste to Energy and Biofuels. At Credit Suisse, Ezekiel also pioneered several securitizations of exotic commodities including a $600m securitization of Certified Emission Reductions; the first transaction completed in this market.
Mr. Ezekiel joined Credit Suisse in July 2006 from Antipodean Partners, a Hedge Fund in the environmental sector, which he cofounded in 2002 and served as their President. Mr. Ezekiel was responsible for developing a number of innovative financing structures for carbon emissions producers utilizing carbon assets as collateral.
Mr. Ezekiel has an MBA from Cornell University and is formerly an MD, with preliminary training in Neurosurgery.
Shawn Wilson, VP & Chief Financial Officer
Shawn holds a Chartered Accountant designation from the Ontario Institute of Chartered Accountants. Shawn is a business executive and entrepreneur with over 15 years of experience including: Co-founder and Chief Financial Officer for Multi-Channel Communications Inc., Chief Financial Officer for Internet Sports Network Inc., and Corporate Controller for Harris Corporation.
Shawn has effectively managed numerous start-up and growth companies from inception to sale. Most recently as Chief Financial Officer for Multi-Channel Communications Inc. Shawn was a member of the founding team, raised over 10MM in equity and 12MM in debt. Shawn effectively managed a two year revenue growth of over 35,000% earning the Company Profit Magazines’ No. 1 rank on their 2005 list of Canada’s Emerging Growth Companies. In less than 5 years from inception he led negotiations to sell the company to a Multi-National Corporation.
Taras Bezchlibnyk, VP Service Delivery
Taras is an accomplished, senior executive with more than 24 years of national and international experience driving complex and high-risk changes for organizations in a manner to ensure they are successfully managed, implemented and adopted. His extensive, diverse experience in building and leading PMO and Quality Assurance teams includes risk management, project portfolio management, program & project management, budget management, resource management, systems testing, automation, process engineering, vendor management and outsourcing.
Taras was responsible for building, directing and managing the Project Management Office at several companies, including TMX Group (formerly Toronto Stock Exchange), Intria Items Inc., City of Toronto and Reuters Information Services. He was also responsible for Quality Assurance and Testing at Symcor Inc and TMX Group.
Taras is a graduate of the Physics Specialist program at the University of Toronto, where he specialized in theoretical nuclear physics.
Steve Schaefer, VP Business Development
Steve Schaefer has operated in the North American energy and emerging renewable energy space for much of his professional career from a sales, consulting and organizational leadership standpoint. He has worked at leading energy and sustainability organizations such as Strategic Energy, Centrica and most recently with Direct Energy Business Services. Throughout his career Steve has focused primarily on energy risk solutions with a concentration on origination and management of PPA agreements for renewable energy.
Steve has deep experience providing integrated renewable energy solutions for numerous industry sectors, including – manufacturing, retail, hospitality, MUSH and property management. The renewable solutions range from corporate compliance (CC), Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to other GEA centric initiatives. Steve has contributed to providing solutions for a broad range of organizations including the likes of IKEA, Estee Lauder, Philips Electronics, City of Toronto and most recently a 100,000 MWh Renewable Energy Certificate purchase for the TTC. Steve is also actively involved in grass-roots activities raising awareness about climate change.
Greg Pruner, VP Corporate Development
Greg Pruner is the past founder and President, Solaris Energy Partners. He led and founded renewable energy company focused on the design, build and operation of a portfolio of 30MW of large-scale solar energy facilities in Canada and Europe. Greg’s responsibilities included company strategy and execution, corporate and project financing, land acquisition, organizational development, budgeting and accounting and municipal affairs.
Greg has over 15 years of consistent sales over-achievement growing and leading networking, data storage and software technology companies in Canada and Europe. Tenures at Cisco, Cabletron, EMC, Alcatel and start-ups included all aspects of direct and channel sales, sales management and business development.
Mike Jeske, Director Design & Engineering Services
Mike recently joined the AMP Solar Group team as the Director of Design and Engineering Services. In 2005, he graduated from the University of Waterloo with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and has since spent time working in the building services industry designing mechanical and electrical systems for the ICI market, with more experience in solar development and design over the last four years. Through multiple design and engineering roles, he has been directly involved in designing over 100 MW of both rooftop and ground mount solar projects, and has successfully installed close to 7 MW of interconnected projects in Ontario. He has also been involved in all aspects of the development of solar projects including PV and electrical design, structural engineering, LDC interconnection, and the OPA FIT process along with all necessary regulatory approvals.
